Silver Duke of Edinburgh – Volunteering

Today our silver Duke of Edinburgh group travelled to Memorial Park in Stanley to work with Wear Valley Rivers Trust to create a ‘leaky dam’ to reduce the flow of water through the stream and prevent flooding. This is an ongoing project with many different skills involved. Today the group worked together to fell small trees and to trim them so they can be used in future weeks to create the dam.
