What does LGBTQ+ stand for?

Listen to your friend, use the correct pronouns, find a supportive member of staff to talk to.

 

What do I do if I get someone’s pronouns wrong?

Try to ask their pronouns first.

Apologise, then use the correct pronouns.

Try to use the correct pronouns from now on.

 

What does ‘questioning’ mean?

This means someone who isn’t sure about their gender and sexuality.

 

What does non-binary mean?

A person who doesn’t identify as male or female.

 

What does pan-sexual means?

A person who is attracted to anyone, regardless of their gender or sexuality.

 

What is the difference between gender and sexuality?

Gender refers to how identify as a person (e.g. she/him). Sexuality refers to who a person is attracted to (e.g. heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual).
