We are delighted to share with you all that one of our 6th form students, Emma Horton, has been shortlisted for a photography competition for people with Down’s Syndrome. The competition is run by Down’s Syndrome Association. She will be going to an awards ceremony in London in November!
However, we have also found out today that this is an international competition! What’s more, there is a prize for the ‘people’s choice’ vote. So, we would love to support Emma in celebrating her achievements. I am sure you will all be as proud of her as we are.

Emma’s photo below was taken during lockdown and she wrote this about her photo, which was entered in the ‘My Life During Covid’ category:
“During Covid, me and my family went on this lovely walk in Durham lots of times. This is a special photo because it has my shadow in it while I’m taking the photo. It only shows my shadow in the picture, because during Covid, it felt lonely and I was just a shadow of myself.”
