As part of our topic on ‘Endangered and extinct’ we looked at how scientists learnt a lot about some extinct creatures by finding fossils. We decided to try this out for ourselves and used clay to create our own. We then swapped these with our peers to see what information they could ‘extract’ from our fossils. What animal could it have been? What features did they have? What reason could it become extinct? Pupils took this role very seriously and came up with some fabulous answers.
