Students in year ten have been delivering a ‘Dragon’s Den ‘ style presentation in Enterprise lessons today. The students have presented ideas to the class and to me in the hope of getting some money to help with their start up costs. The students will be also giving a presentation in assembly this week. They will be selling cupcakes every break time on a Wednesday for 50p each. I will let you know in the future how the business is going.
The sixth form are running a ‘guess how many sweets in the jar’. It is 20p a guess. Everyone is welcome to have a go. The winner will be drawn at the enterprise fayre.
This afternoon the Boccia team took on the current champions King James. Both teams played well and the winners today were The Oaks School. Brilliant performance!
Just to let you know early parents evening will be Wednesday 4th December from 4pm until 5.30pm.
Mrs. Bulmer did her best today to provide everyone with lunch under very difficult circumstances! We’re pleased to say that the problem has now been fixed and school dinners will return to normal tomorrow.
Thank you to everybody who bought fabric poppy brooches from the jewellery club. We raised £34 from the sale of these…they proved to be that popular that we couldn’t keep up with demand in fact. (hopefully we will be able to make more for next year though) This money was given to The British Legion as part of their poppy appeal fundraiser.
This afternoon some pupils from The Oaks took part in an Aquability session. The session involved some swimming, games and dance. What fun!. Joseph and Oliver were awarded medals “GOLD”, for outstanding effort and participation during the session. Well done to all the pupils that took part.
We used ribbons and scarves to explore movement and dance.
