Year 10 Bronze Practice Expedition

Our Year 10 Bronze Duke of Edinburghs Award students went on their practice expedition this week to the Yorkshire Dales. We had some lovely weather and the students did really well exploring the area on foot over 2 days walking, practicing leading legs of the routes in turn. They all cooked their evening meal on trangia stoves successfully and tidied away afterwards. For some students this was a first experience of sleeping away from home too! During the 2 days the students were asked to take pictures and videos of the landscape flora and fauna which they enjoyed doing. Some of the students were really fortunate to experience meeting and feeding some orphaned lambs too!

We will be back next week for the students to undertake their qyalifying expedition where they will be assessed on their expedition skills. This will complete the last section of their Bronze Award.

We hope you enjoy looking at some of the pictures taken during the trip.
