Friday Afternoon Enrichment – Forest School

As part of our Friday afternoon enrichment programme some students have chosen to take part in Forest school.  We spend our time enjoying the outdoors up at our on-site forest school where the students are learning a range of skills including fire safety, fire circle rules, how to light a fire and  how to cook food on a fire.

During bad weather we practise skills in the classroom ready to put them into practice outside.

This term students have enjoyed toasting marshmallows on our open fire to make s’mores and preparing and cooking chocolate gooey bananas.  They have used a Kelly kettle to make hot chocolates and used a fire box to cook hot dogs and sausages.

With it being autumn we have also been making bird feeders to help our wildlife and foraging for food, the students have found apples and blackberries and enjoyed eating them.
