Our Year 10 Duke of Edinburghs Award Students completed their qualifying expedition this week. They used all the skills they practiced last week and as they were under assessment conditions, were expected to be much more independent. Every student stepped up to the tasks given to them over the 2 days and successfully completed the expedition including answering some assessment questions on the second day checking their understanding and knowledge of the countryside code, navigation, safely cooking outdoors, local flora and fauna and teamwork.
We are very proud of the hard work and effort the students have put in over the last year and are delighted to say that all who attended this trip have passed the section, which in turn sees them complete their full Bronze Award!
We also have a small number of students who couldn’t join us on expedition however have been awarded a certificate of achievement for completing their physical, skills and volunteering sections of the award.
Congratulations to all!
