Year 10 ASDAN

Here we are learning about jobs in the community whilst having fun.

6th Form Enterprise

6th form students have been carrying out ‘research’ into local cafes, in preparation for setting up our own in-school cafe. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it!

Filmclub, does Gruesome Make-Up

On Friday 8th of March, staff from Firstlight and Filmclub visited us with Make-up artist, Laura Tallentire. Laura showed our pupils how gruesome make-up is done. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves and asked Laura many questions about her role in the T.V and Film industry and the ‘Celebs’ she has met.

Laura has many credits to her C.V, one of which is ‘the bingo heads’ on 365 Bingo which currently sponser Emmerdale.

Hope you don’t get too scared by the photos!

Year Ten yoga poses

Year ten have been practising some yoga today as part of their leisure unit in ASDAN. They have been having a go at some of the poses they found out about. These included the downward dog, mountain pose, tree pose and extended triangle pose. This was part of taking part in a challenge that they found relaxing, next week they will be attempting some circuit training.

Sedgefield Schools Partership Annual Dance Festival

The Oaks have been taking part in this annual dance festival since our school opened.
Each year we have a different theme for our dances. This year our Street Dance group, who meet every Thursday lunchtime were enthusiastic to show their moves. They all did well and thoroughly enjoyed the experience despite pre performance nerves.
