Red Cafe Coffee Morning

Mr Summerson, Mr Wood and Miss Fink’s family groups are planning a ‘Red Triangle Cafe’ event next week. Pupils are invited to attend the ‘Big Coffee Morning’ in aid of Macmillan during lessons 1 and 2 on Thursday, 26th October. Refreshments, cakes and biscuits will be available.

Tomorrow we begin to take part in the ‘SEN INCLUSION PROGRAMME’ which is sponsored by the ‘Paul Hamlyn Foundation’.

Our first film to view and review will be the Marx Brother’s classic ‘Duck Soup’.

Before the holidays we recieved ‘Filmclub, Super Club’ award. This is the second award we have received. Our first was ‘ FILMCLUB OF THE YEAR 2011’ sponsored by Firstlight. http://www.firstlightonline.co.uk/.

NOT Non Uniform Day 20th September

Please note it is not non uniform day on Friday 20th September therefore pupils should be wearing normal uniform.  We are doing Jeans for Genes on Friday 27th September instead.  Many thanks Tracey

Monday morning activities

There was no forest this week for 8D so they have been working hard in the classroom completing English activities is morning.

The group was split into two smaller groups. One group played an English/PSHCE/Speech and Language game while the other group completed the next letter in their letters and sounds activities. They then had some choice time and swapped over. They have all worked really hard all morning.

8D had some time before lunch today so we got the magnetic letters out to make some words…

Pupils enjoy this activity which also helps develop their speech and language skills. They are all given a handful of letters to start with but if they want different ones, they have to ask staff for the specific letter.

Our new Forest School

12A went to a new Forest School site at Harehope Quarry, Frosterley. We used our new fire pit to toast marshmallows and then went exploring to check out all the facilities.
