7D Art

7D have started some topic work on animals this term. In art, they have been looking at the different shapes that can be used to make a picture of an animal using different materials. Thomas used a wax material which he had to bend into the different shapes to make a cat and Christopher used super clay which he rolled into spheres and ovals and he cut out triangles. We also had pupils using paint to paint shapes on paper.

7D are very good with shapes.

Art trip to Edinburgh

Some of our pupils who study Art & Design have had the opportunity to visit Edinburgh this week. We travelled by train, a journey that our pupils thoroughly enjoyed. We went to the Scottish National Art Gallery and Scottish National Museum and pupils were able to take photographs and make sketches whilst there that can be added to their portfolio of G.C.S.E. art work. In addition to this we were able to stroll through the Grassmarket area, take in the local sights and do a spot of shopping too. A big ‘thank you’ to Mr Wood for all of his hard work in organising such a succesful art trip and to our pupils for making it such a great day out. We are looking forward to going there again next year!!DSCF0477 DSCF0495 DSCF0497
