Latest News From the School Blog
Dear Parents/Carers,
As you know, I will be retiring from my post as Executive Head of our federation on December 31st. I want to take this opportunity to say a massive “thank you” to you all for your support of our schools. The federation works so well because of the strong partnerships we have, including those with yourselves.
I am one of the lucky few who has enjoyed every part of my career, and can honestly say that I have no regrets. I have said many times, that there are elements of my job that I would do for free because I love it so much!
I have been honoured to be part of your child’s story, and those of all of the pupils who have attended our schools over the years. I know that Mr. Tweddle will continue to develop the federation, and that all of our leaders and staff will continue to give above and beyond for our children. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
With all my good wishes for the future,
Andrea English
Executive Head Teacher.

8T have been working very hard this term on their topic ‘Christmas hats textiles’. We have been learning about the textures, colours and different kinds of hats. We made our very own pom-poms, a draft of our Christmas hat made from card and materials, all working up to our main goal of making their very own Christmas hat! Students worked hard using their decision making, cutting and design skills to plan and create their own Christmas hats which all turned out unique and amazing!

In science, we have been learning about our solar system. We have been looking at our planet and the sun. Today, we looked at the moon.
We made moon sand and explored the textures and the smells of the mixture…
We then looked at the planets of our solar system and took inspiration from the gas giant planets.
We made our own solar system from our efforts…
Until next time.
For No Pens Day 11s chose to create a Makaton Performance of the song played at the end of the Beowulf film called ‘ A Hero Comes Home’. We have been studying this text this term and they have completed some amazing English work through it. They have all done a fantastic job! Take a look using the link below!
