Bake Off

As part of Macmillan’s ‘Big Coffee Morning’ event, staff at The Oaks went head to head in a cake making ‘bake off’. Mr Davis judged the competition, he will have to work the calories off in the gym later!

Pupils were able to buy a slice from the cake of their choice afterwards as well as participate in our organised non-uniform day. Many of our pupils and staff wore green to show their support for the Macmillan charity.

Poppy Making

The girls in our very own ‘Bead Club’ have been very busy lately creating poppy brooches. All profits made from the sale of these were donated to ‘The British Legion’. We donated £40.50.

Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan Cancer Support recently organised the ‘World’s largest coffee morning’. The schools Elm house group arranged their own coffee morning to support this event and raised £29.30. A big thank you to all who helped and attended.

First Box of Eggs!

Our hens have been busy laying eggs since the first one was discovered last week. Yesterday we discovered the sixth egg and had enough for our first box. The first box was presented to Mrs Ross who had correctly guessed when the first egg would be laid in our guess the date competition. Future boxes will be sold to students and staff to help raise money to pay for the hens food and upkeep.

First Egg!

This morning when we went to feed the chickens we discovered that one of them had laid their first egg! We hope it is the first of many.
