On Friday we’ll be having our Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, Mrs Bulmer, our Kitchen Manager is absent at the moment. This is our first Christmas without her. Get well soon, Mrs Bulmer!
Our pupils have the opportunity to choose an activity at the end of each term as a reward for good work, effort and behaviour. Sixth form pupils have already visited the cinema to watch ‘The Hobbit’ followed by a spot of lunch afterwards in Durham. KS3 and KS4 pupils had the option to choose from various activities such as gaming in school, sensory activities, Wet & Wild, the cinema, bowling or Christmas shopping at the Metro Centre. These take place tomorrow….enjoy all!
One down, one more to go! Ks3 pupils have all enjoyed their Xmas party immensely! A big thank you to Mr Summerson who provided the music for the festivities and Mr Tweddle who acted as a bouncer whilst everybody else danced the afternoon away. Party games and food followed too. Everybody even left with a small Christmas gift. More fun to be had tomorrow afternoon at the ks4 party. ‘T’is the season to be jolly’ after all 😉
Don’t forget you can purchase some lovely pieces of jewellery from the Bead Club trolley. Very affordable too! See Miss Fink for more details.
Christmas festivities get into full swing at The Oaks from tomorrow…. It’s going to be a busy, fun filled week! Ks3 party on Tuesday afternoon, ks4 party Wednesday afternoon, end of term reward trips take place on Thursday and Christmas lunch in Friday….phew!!! Might even be able to squeeze a bit of carol singing in too! Don’t forget we have our very own post box (located in reception) for any last minute cards to be delivered in school.
Unfortunately Rose, one of our three hens, was stolen last week. Everyone was very upset to lose a much loved school pet. Poppy and Petunia continue to lay eggs though and the project will continue.
Another productive day in Bead Club! Pupils have been very busy making clasp bracelets today. We made £6.50 from trolley sales too. We still have lots of lovely jewellery left …these would make excellent stocking fillers for Christmas 🙂 See Miss Fink if you would like to look at our jewellery products.
This week our staff and pupils will be very busy making things to sell at our annual Enterprise Fayre. All are welcome to attend the fair on Friday 16th Novemeber at 1:30pm. It costs 50p to enter with free drink and mince pie. Please come along to support the school and get some early Christmas presents!
