7B – Exploring our new environment

Today 7B read a story about exploring a new environment using a telescope. We created our own telescopes and explored areas of our new school.

Year 11 Bricklaying

Our year 11 pupils have been working hard in their employment, skills and personal development lesson this morning. They have been building walls three bricks high. Keiran pictured, led the group with his advanced knowledge and skill. Well done to all the pupils.

Farm in a Box

As part of the Country Trust school’s outreach work we had a special delivery last week with two boxes overflowing with amazing ingredients / resources. Due to Covid 19 restrictions all off site visits are currently suspended. Sue Thompson from the Country Trust came up with a great idea bringing farm life into school. We selected the arable and dairy box where 11B pupils explored different types of cheeses, seeds, milk and made their own butter and pizzas. We even had a recorded clip from our North East link farmer Dennis from Ponteland. Helena who is currently shielding, didn’t miss out as she joined her peers over Microsoft Teams. We hope to visit the farm sometime in the future.

Our Pledge – International Women’s Day 2021

In our careers lessons we have been learning about equality within the Royal Air Force (RAF), we watched a recorded webinar which was produced by Amazing Apprenticeships for International Women’s day. The pupils enjoyed learning about the roles within the RAF and how it is an inclusive organisation.

The Amazing Apprenticeships have been running a competition where pupils had to design their own pledges. Please see our entries below:
